  • Fix the service control manager for Windows NT, 2000 and XP

    • Remove the "message table" from the executable, and place it in a separate DLL (msgdll.dll)
    • Update the registration procedures, to reflect the new message table location.

  • Fix the event log viewer problem, where strings would not be expanded properly because of missing descriptions.
  • Make the tray icon program work with XP and the "autohide taksbar icons" feature.
  • Fix the "slowness" problem that some of the GUI applications had when a component was not running

  • Fix a bug that would cause an Application Error when one of the win32 specific programs exits.

  • Minor updates to CRStatus and CRConf for the new configuration elements listed above. Most notably the SSL panels.

  • Allow configuration of what should be logged
  • Fix a bug that could flood the event log with the same message

1.8.0 Release

Well, this is a release that packs a lot of functionality, with new applications, and tons of additions to our existing applications.

Tray Monitor:

  • New code, extra small executable (48K!), more functionality.

Configuration Utility:

  • Resized the application; It is now significantly smaller, and will easily fit on a 640x480 screen.
  • Upgraded interface to the new "flat" look, introduced the use of tabs on all panels, and added new icons everywhere.
  • Added support for all new ConferenceRoom configuration options, as well as new services features.
  • Greatly enhanced NickServ and ChanServ registration panels, allow changing of all options.
  • Added graph windows, to visually display server statistics.
  • Added support for the NT/2000 Service Control Manager that comes with ConferenceRoom.
  • Added enhanced support for displaying key privileges and information.
  • Enhanced Scribe tabs, make configuring Scribe events, logs and scripts as easy as 1 2 3

Status Monitor:

  • New interface, more features, more control.
  • Can minimize itself to the system tray, or to the taskbar.
  • Can stay always on top.
  • Displays server statistics visually.

Service Manager:

  • New code, that is much smaller, and more efficient than the previous one.
  • More control over the service during installation, and visual configuration using CRConf (only available on Windows NT and Windows 2000)
